Beacon Hill apartments are a solid choice for Suffolk students but let's look at things a little more in depth...
Beacon Hill is right next to Suffolk University making it an ideal place for Suffolk off campus housing. If no one else lived here, you'd have a haven for students looking for Suffolk University apartments. Here's the issue: not only is Beacon Hill basically the most expensive part of Boston to live in, it is also extremely high demand because everyone else wants to live here too. That isn't to say that a fair amount of Suffolk students don't find a nice cozy home up on Beacon Hill, it's just that there isn't always enough to go around. If you have your heart set on the Hill, look early and decide IMMEDIATELY. Suffolk students seem to all rush out at the same time (during the Suffolk Housing Fair) and it's a first come first served rat race. We're talking about losing out on your Beacon Hill apartment because someone applied a half hour before you.
That said, there are some fine alternatives in Suffolk University apartments. Be sure to take a look through the Back Bay, the West End, as well as some areas a bit further out if you don't mind a few quick T stops. After all, the MBTA is going to be your lifeblood if you're living in the heart of Boston so those couple stops will seems like nothing soon enough.
