West Newton is one of the oldest of the thirteen villages comprising Newton, Massachusetts. Located in the north central part of Newton, West Newton is bordered by the town of Waltham on the north, Auburndale on the west, Lower Newton Falls on the southwest, and Newtonville on the east.
The heart of West Newton is the West Newton Square. Among the shops and upscale restaurants found here is the historic West Newton Cinema, an old legitimate theatre that now screens independent films.
