Medford
Medford, MA is another of Boston’s historic suburbs. Once a prosperous shipbuilding community, Medford eventually became a production center for linens and rum. The founding of Tufts University in 1852 also helped fuel Medford’s growth. By 1870, the city’s population was virtually exploding in size.
Today, industrialization has given way to a residential feel in this Boston suburb. Medford’s architectural history can be seen in the Jonathan Wade house, the Peter Tufts House, and the Isaac Royall estate. This is a neighborhood with a diverse past to say the least.
Of course, Medford, like its neighboring communities has easy access to the local Boston interstates for ease of commute. A Medford apartment offers a mix of rich history and suburban peace.
